Traditional smile makeover methods rely on physical impressions using alginate or silicone materials. While accurate, these impressions require close to an hour of chair time per appointment and multiple visits over several weeks.
A digital model not only captures highly detailed imagery of teeth and gums but transmits the image directly to our lab partner for instant fabrication. This allows treatment planning, mock-ups, and restorative design all in a single visit – a major benefit to our patients.
How it Works
During the first appointment, our dentist uses a handheld intraoral scanner no larger than a conventional dental mirror to capture hundreds of thousands of data points on the inside of the mouth.
This builds a complete digital 3D model within minutes. We then use sophisticated CAD/CAM software to design veneers, crowns, or other restorations precisely matching the planned results.
The digital model is electronically forwarded to our partner lab, which uses industrial-grade 3D printers and CAM milling machines to rapidly produce wax prototypes and final restorations from zirconia, lithium disilicate, or other durable ceramics.
Within one to two weeks, the custom-fitted and perfectly contoured pieces return for a single visit, cementation, and completion of the new smile.
